About Piek Group

A family business on a journey to the peak

Piek is the Afrikaans word for peak. It's our family name — and our promise. For nearly four decades we've been building service-station destinations that put people first.

The Piek family
A Family Business

Run by the Piek family. Built to reach the peak.

It started in 1986, when Philip Piek acquired his first service station. Nearly four decades later, the Piek Group has grown into a family of Engen and Sasol destinations across the Free State, Western Cape and Northern Cape — convenience centres, forecourts, fast-food outlets, bakeries, coffee shops, car washes and more.

The group's assets belong to the Piek family. We treasure the family business opportunity. Our values bind the business and the family together with a shared vision — family values, future plans and the achievement of goals, together.

Our logo tells the story. It symbolises a family business on a journey to the peaks (piek) of performance and delivery. And on that journey, we strive to close the gap between "human being" and "being human" — in the best interest of our customers, our people and our communities.

Our businesses form part of the national Engen and Sasol network. While the bulk of national marketing is done in conjunction with the oil companies, our focus is on promoting fuel products, forecourt service and our convenience assets. Site-specific marketing plans are adapted frequently to sustain excitement and are built around local communities, schools, universities and loyalty programmes.

Site managers oversee all activities at their destinations, reporting to the group's directors. Line managers run the sections — forecourt, convenience store, food and coffee partners, customer service, stock takes, hygiene, health and safety and marketing programmes — ensuring every site runs like the family business it is.

“We strive to offer the best forecourt and convenience experience in the industry — keeping in mind that success must not go to our heads, nor failure to our hearts.”
